Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Meetory ("we", "the app") is operated by Dogan Akti. This policy explains what data Meetory handles, why, and what control you have over it. It applies to the Meetory iOS app and this website. We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK No. 6698).
What we collect
- Account data. When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name and email address. We use them to create and identify your account.
- Audio recordings. Recordings you make are uploaded to our servers to be transcribed and analyzed, and stored encrypted so you can play them back on any device. Your audio is deleted when you delete the meeting or your account (see retention below).
- Transcripts and notes. The transcript, summaries, insights and tasks generated from your recordings are stored on our servers so the app can show them to you. They remain until you delete the meeting or your account.
- Push token. If you enable notifications, we store a push token to tell you when your notes are ready.
- Feedback. If you send feedback, we store your message together with basic diagnostics (app version, device model, OS version) to help us respond.
We also process technical data generated automatically when you use the service — your IP address and request logs on our servers — used only to operate the service securely and diagnose problems. If you subscribe, we receive subscription and purchase status from Apple (whether your subscription is active); Apple processes the payment and we never see your card details.
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. Meetory contains no ads and no third-party tracking.
Why we are allowed to process it (legal basis)
- To provide the service — performance of our contract with you (the Terms of Use). We cannot deliver Meetory without processing your recordings and account data.
- To keep it secure and improve it — our legitimate interest in operating a reliable, safe product.
- Where the law requires it, we rely on your consent (e.g. enabling notifications), which you can withdraw at any time.
How your data is processed
To provide the service, we share the minimum necessary data with the following categories of partners and vendors, each contractually bound to process it only on our documented instructions and never for their own purposes:
- Speech-to-text providers — receive the audio to transcribe it. The transcript is deleted from their servers immediately after processing.
- AI analysis providers — receive the transcript text to generate summaries, notes, insights and tasks.
- Authentication providers (Google, Apple) — verify your identity when you sign in.
- Push notification providers — deliver notifications when your notes are ready.
- Hosting, storage and computing providers — store your account, transcripts and audio (encrypted at rest) in EU data centres.
A current list of the specific sub-processors we use is available on request at the contact address below.
International transfers. Some of our AI providers are located outside the EU, including in the United States. When your audio or transcript is transferred to them, the transfer is protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards. Your accounts, transcripts, audio and backups are stored within the EU.
We never sell your data or use it for advertising. Your meeting content is not used to train AI models.
How long we keep it
Your meetings, transcripts and audio are kept until you delete them or delete your account. When you delete a meeting or your account, the records are removed from our live systems immediately and from our encrypted backups within 7 days (backups rotate on a 7-day cycle). We keep the minimum billing records that tax law requires.
Deletion and your rights
- Deleting a meeting in the app permanently removes its transcript, notes, tasks and stored audio from our servers.
- Settings → Delete Account permanently removes all your meetings, stored audio, feedback, and your account record from our systems and our processors (backups purge within 7 days).
- Under the EU GDPR and the Turkish KVKK (Law No. 6698) you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, and object to the processing of your data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Write to us and we will respond within 30 days.
Data security
All data travels over encrypted connections (TLS) and audio is encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to the operator on a need-to-know basis. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.
Children
Meetory is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will update this page when the policy changes and note the date above. Material changes will be announced in the app.
